Training

Training of school children and communities
Some projects require training of school children and community members. We do this using various methods, including talks, demonstrations and interactive methods, such as play. We combine community training with quantitative measuring to evaluate the impact of the training.
Practical field ecology courses
We present field ecology courses that combine hands-on field methodology, data capturing, data management and basic statistics. This is presented in collaboration with the University of Venda, and courses will count up to 3 university credits.

Assisting student projects
Ecological research remains the backbone to make informed conservation decisions and to implement management actions. Sadly, field-based ecological research is worldwide in decline. We enable ecological field work, especially projects around predation, by assisting with logistical support, equipment rental, assistance in project layout and implementation, small mammal surveys, carnivore camera trapping survey and statistical support. To date we have supported several studies.
